Express parking at Alicante-Elche airport

AS from Tuesday July 21, a new express parking system will be operating at the departure zone of Alicante-Elche airport.The parking area will be controlled by barriers and people using it will have just 15 minutes in which to drop people off before charges are applied.The tariffs are higher than for the normal car park with the first 15 minutes being free and minute 16 costing €1.9.

Airport’s busiest August ever

THIS has been the best ever August for Alicante-Elche airport, which registered 1,260,839 passengers.This was 4 per cent up on the same month last year.The national airport and aviation public company (AENA) noted it was also the best month of 2015 so far.As always, the UK provided the most passengers, with a total of 533,879.

AMAZING pictures have been released of the hatching of the loggerhead turtle eggs laid on La Mata beach on July 31.A spokeswoman for Torrevieja town hall explained that some of the eggs were taken to a deserted beach in La Albufera natural park in Valencia for safe keeping, while the others were incubated at the Oceanogràfic centre in Valencia city.
